The Buzz, The Intrigue, The Mystery and The Message...Original Air Dated March 25, 2013.  Sometime in late February I received an email from someone named “Miss Tiger”, subject: (I want you on my show) and the email in short said that she has been a Muscle Mafia fan and pithed the subject of muscle worship to the show’s producers.  Miss Tiger co-hosts The Derek and Romaine show once a month and wanted to approach this topic for her March 25th show.  OutQ being a gay and lesbian channel liked the idea, but they are very careful who and what they put on air so research was essential.  So for a few weeks before actually contacting me she and her  colleagues at the Derek and Romaine Show did extensive research on the subject of Muscle Worship. Apparently of all they came across on the Internet The Muscle Mafia , our movies and our subculture stood out as an authority on the subject.  She explained that what they liked best and what made it a good show topic rather than a “Fluff Piece” or an obvious attention getter is that The Muscle Mafia, through our movies and our exclusive sub-culture and “Code of Silence” were doing more that making hot films that get people off, we were actually making a social statement, that in and of itself was a hot topic that pushed many hot buttons;  all thought that based on what they read, watched and saw on this site that The Boss would make an interesting interview.

I was flattered by the compliments and honored by the request, but needed to do my own research, for the same reasons.  I don’t just do interviews, and giving the strict discretion we live by here, I don’t just go shooting off at the mouth with or for anyone no matter what publicity they might be able to bring to the site.

Miss Tiger...I went first to Miss Tiger’s facebook and website (radiobitch.com), and followed links and did some reading and found that Miss Tiger, (See Above) was actually not born a “Miss” at all, but a “Mister” and still is a “Mister”.  Yes gentlemen, that is a man, and I dare any straight guy to look at those pictures and NOT want to fuck that chick.  I was amazed, and just as intrigued about this creative and talented “Miss Tiger” as she was about The Muscle Mafia.  So, I took her up on her offer to first have a phone conversation and discuss things. As exciting as she looks in these photos, she is just as exciting to talk to, high energy, extremely educated, well spoken, street savvy, and sharp.  We spoke for over an hour about all things and I knew, we knew in the first 5 minutes that for us to go LIVE on the air, this time or any other time would be good listening!  She has a bit of a rough and interesting past, is boldly honest and what I liked best is she is very comfortable with herself.  Again, I refer to the photos, and then listen to the show, she is not just some guy in dress up… she is put together, Period.  I always say if you are going to do something do it right and when “He” decided “He” wanted to take on the art form of transforming into a “She” well, she did it right! Who wouldn’t want to be alined with someone like that, so I suspect Miss Tiger approaches everything in life that way, as do I so the Interview was a no brainer for me.

Romaine, An Angel, turns tradegy in to triumph...Then I did research on Romaine, and this sealed the deal!  Another lady who has a set of balls, well not literally she was born and woman and is a woman, but she is a gay woman whose best friend, a gay male, was lured from a bar by 2 men under the false pretense of wanting to hook up, but was actually murdered.  This case might ring a bell, he best friend was Matthew Shepard, the innocent young male who in 1998 was tied to a post in Wyoming, tortured, beaten and murdered in an anti-gay hate crime. That crime become one of the most notorious anti-gay hate crimes in American history that inspired many of the laws we know today to prevent and or punish such cowardly crimes.  You can read his story in full here; I did and if you want to see The Boss cry you should have seen me when I read his story.  I was literally sick to my stomach.

Then I read more about Romaine, and how this affected her and what she did about it. She became an activist, formed Angel Action an organization that counter acted the hate protestors outside of the trial for the sick fucks that murdered Matthew.  Romaine wrote a book about Matthew (Title: The Whole World Was Watching: Living in the Light of Matthew Shepard.  Available on Amazon) Angel Action has been depicted in movies “The Laramie Project” (HBO) and “The Matthew Shepard Story” (NBC).  Now she is the Romaine in the Derek and Romaine Show on OUTQ a gay and lesbian channel on SiriusXM Satellite Radio.  Derek and Romaine on Twitter.

So, you can imagine I was honored by the invitation and proud to contribute to the show and the topic. Even more honored that these great people saw me and The Muscle Mafia as something that stood out, and that they considered me an authority on this topic worthy of an on-air interview.  

On The Air...What was suppose to be a 10 minute interview went over to almost 30 minutes.  We spoke about a lot of things, the conversation just flowed.  We talked about concept of The Muscle Mafia, the underground, the mystery, men fucking men vs. fucking women, masculinity, our straight female fans, our celebrity fans, wives and girlfriends sending photos of their guys in to film with us.  The concept of girlfriends turned on by their guys being considered on of “The Blessed”.  Also, how lesbians view this, Romaine tells of what it was about us that turned her on as a lesbian, and what turns her on, or off about gay porn; in particular what we do as it compares to other sites.  Miss Tiger shares her opinion on our movies and our site and the social impact we are making in our own way.  Miss Tiger tells while spending time on musclematt.com she did not feel as if she was on a porn or adult site, it was clearly something different. 

Derek was pretty quiet through the interview, he interjected here and there but I think as the ball got rolling he became a spectator to My, Romaine, and Miss Tiger's conversation.  There were many things we wanted to discuss but didn't, I know Miss Tiger wanted to really get in my head a little more.  Days after we spoke again and she said she would like to do it again and maybe have me or some of the other guys as well in studio.  We put that off until after the new website launch, well it is launched now so I am sure we will discuss it.

After It Air'd... email slammed me with fans of ours who are fans of Derek and Romaine, who were just driving or listening to quote, Rorey from Washington said, "The minute they did the introduction and mentioned muscle worship I thought of you guys, then they said Carlo, and I almost ran off the road!" "I pulled over to listen!"  That was the general feedback of those that were mutual fans of us both.  Some of The Muscle Mafia fans found Derek and Romaine for the first time and many of their fans found us for the first time.  Over-all it was a very positive thing for all.  To this day I still get mail and have added to our already incredible following of fantastic people who follow us!
